Problems anwering calls via Bluetooth

We recently bought the new 2013 Honda crv and have been facing the same issues, however, I have gone in dept and found some necessary details. While the phone is connected to the stereo system of my car, when I receive a call and i pick it up from the car, the call gets connected but no conversation is able to happen on both sides. When I unlock the iphone (that is connected to the Bluetooth), I get 3 available audio options to choose - handsfreelink, iPhone, speaker. Currently handsfreelink is active, which it should be, but in order for any sound to go through I have to manually tap the iPhone or speaker option, then reselect the handsfree option. Everything after that works fine but this is a hassle and not worth the bother. Is there a way of sorting this or do i have to wait for aof update to sort it?

I understand that you are having issues with answering calls via Bluetooth; neither side of the conversation can be heard. I'll be happy to provide some info for you.

The best option would be to go over these steps and unpair and then pair again and see if the issue persists.

If you're using Bluetooth


  1. Check your car stereo's user manual for how to pair with a Bluetooth device.
  2. On your iOS device, swipe up to open Control Center, then tap User uploaded file twice to turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Restart your iOS device.
  4. On your iOS device, unpair your car stereo. On your car's display, unpair your iOS device and any other devices. Restart your car and your iOS device, then pair and connect again.
  5. Update your iOS device.
  6. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
  7. If you still can't connect, contact Apple Support.
